Fab Academy Graduation
FabAcademy graduates from all around (also via video conference) the world gathered for graduation

Student Aysheshim Tilahuns Computer Controlled Dooby Machine
Fab Academy graduation ceremony took place at the fab6.nl Conference held in Amsterdam in August 2010. Students participated locally and remotely via videoconference in the closing event of the Symposium of Digital Fabrication. Students received lasercutted Diplomas and CNC milled Medals, in consideration for the hard work developed along the year.Once the Fab Academy diploma is achieved, students can become gurus at their local labs, by replicating themselves teaching new students at the academy. This educational systems guarantees training for Lab Managers and faculty for the academy.
The Fab Academy started as a trial in 2008 where the students have accepted their diploma in september 2009. The current graduates started on September 2009, with the participation of 16 Labs world wide. Finally 6 labs have finished with at least two students in the Fab Academy 2009-10 program. Fab Academy graduation ceremony took place at the Fab6 Conference held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in August 2010. The different projects can be found at

Neil Greshenfield In Barcelona

On the opening day of the fabrication process for the Solar Fab Lab House Project - http://www.fablabhouse.com/ lead by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia http://www.iaac.net/, the Center for Bit and Atoms del MIT and a world-wide network of fab labs http://fab.cba.mit.edu/ – Neil Greshenfield visited the Fab Lab Barcelona.
He commented on students work about their previous projects in Casting and Molding class, Electronics Design and Production, and also showed them MIT’s current works with other students.
The Solar Fab Lab House is a proto type subjected to formal criteria as well as constructive logics and energy efficiency in which all of the agents that have actively participated will form part of their subsequent development. Read more…
